4 Day | Monday 17 – Thursday 20 March 2025
NARRATIVE TEXTILES
Narrative textiles have a long and important place in history, documenting the lives of communities and individuals and giving the power of expression to those who may otherwise be powerless.
Looking at examples of historical and contemporary artists and communities who have utilised narrative textiles to communicate with the world we will explore how to develop your own visual language including symbology, text, colour, mark making and composition.
At the end of the four days, you will have completed your own narrative textile work. Depending on the techniques you decide to use your finished piece will be anything from A5-A3 in size.
